...from Zone Defense, to Man-to-Man

In this photo, Lucas has just caught his first glimpse of what are "technically" to be his roommates for the next 18 years of his life. - We like to think he was overcome with joy.

Lucas, Mom and Dad after the delivery. Mom called Dad at 11:30 saying, hmmmm, something is different today. At 4:01pm that afternoon, Lucas came out cute as a button.

The button.

Ashton's 3rd Birthday

My Curious George themed party. I was very excited all week getting all the decorations up and the pin the tail on George board ready for my friends.

Daddy made me a Curious George Birthday cake. I added the finishing touch by placing the number 3 candle smack dab in George's mouth. It's perfect.

All of my friends loved my playroom. I showed them all of my toys and the whole evening went off without a teardrop from any of them. It was a miracle. 9 kids, 12 adults - truly amazing.

Ok George, here comes some germs! My wish is for a baby brother so we can have a true Monopoly over the television. March Madness is rapidly approaching!!!

My favorite gifts were the fire engine and the baseball mit. I can't stop throwing the baseball around much to mom and dad's pleasure. When I'm not doing that, I crawl around pushing my fire truck at 80 decibels. The kitchen is my favorite spot, especially when they are preparing meals. It's awesome.

KU Homecoming - 2007

Most people I associated with this weekend did not appreciate my apparel and I did not appreciate their taste in cooking.
Me and my sister. I don't see an resemblance.
A good old Kansas Homecoming Parade.
Carrie and her new beau - Robbie.
My old gang - Paul, Brad, Ross, Me and Pete.

Halloween!

Here are our creations for 2007... it was a good year.
Ma & Pa.
Our little Train Engineer... all smiles before his teeth rot out from the evenings plunder.
A good old recreation of a candy train robbery. The native, the cowgirl, and the engineer.
M&M's are his favorite. He was especially happy with this years collection. The weather was beautiful and we had a great time. Next year we'll have another one in the bunch.

Autumn Lightsaber Battle Royale 2007

The wind was crazy today. My dad and I headed down to the print shop to pick up some drawings for his work (they give out free M&M's there). I love going. We hunted dinosaurs along the way. I counted 10 in all, and I found a penny outside the post office. All in all it was a good 1 block ride.
But in the midst of a huge gust of wind, somewhere between dodging acorns and other small children not tethered down by tricycles, I came up with a new game. Lightsaber Battle Royale.
I told my dad to hit his rocketbooster and run home.
I didn't explain the rules to my dad so when I let out my blood-curdling scream I knew I had the upper hand. I grabed my lightsaber (tree branch with leaves still attached) and swung at him. He got lucky and blinded me with his camera. Not to be put down that easy, the chase ensued.

He's old, so I caught him after one lap of the house. I put a beat-down on him real good.
Until next year!

Weekend Getaway - Michigan

What am I a dog? Smile on command?
You've got to be kidding me.

I do give away hugs on command though. Kisses too.
DADDY! Stop throwing the football so far. This is totally tiring me out. I'm going to have to take a long nap to recuperate. Man, am I exhausted.
This is my Daddy,... my QB.
Me?, I'm number 81, the orginal 81.
Owens & Moss should get their popcorn out.

The many faces of Ashton...

Like manna from heaven... Fire Engines

Awesome, the ladder truck is here, cuz' I got a bugger they can help me get.
I'll be talking about this moment for months to come.
Whooooooooo, here comes the fire engine! That's all I said for about 5 minutes before my daddy pulled me off the truck. People were starting to give me strange looks.
Ok, now to the other side for 5 minutes.
Heaven is a place on earth.

Thank God I'm a country boy again...

I win. They gave up and just fed me smore's. I could get used to this.
This guy is awesome. He's telling everyone how to take a cow, plant some magic beans, grow a giant beanstalk, to get a goose that lays Golden Eggs... Dad, let's ditch this place and go sell that cow we saw for some beans. Let's GO!Someone beat us to it. The cow was gone.
I'll just sit here and wallow in my sorrow. All my dreams are shattered.
